More than 200 animals, some dead, found during investigation in California Valley

More than 200 animals — including dead chickens, rabbits and puppies — were discovered Friday during an animal-cruelty investigation in a remote area of California Valley, authorities said Monday.


Information about the suspects was not disclosed. The investigation will continue this week to determine whether any charges will be filed, according to the San Luis Obispo County Sheriff’s Department.


San Luis Obispo County Rural Crime Task Force deputies along with county Health Department Animal Services officers were called to the scene at 12675 Coutolence Road off Highway 58 on Friday. There deputies found several dead animals, including chickens, two puppies, one adult rabbit and 16 young rabbits, authorities said..." More
