SANTA ANA – Two children and 110 cats were removed from the home of the founder of Cat Connection Rescue Network Inc.

The seizure took place in the 200 block of South Baker Street in Santa Ana, where neighbors reported a smell coming from a house.

Officers with the city's Animal Services Department were shocked at what they saw inside the home Feb. 8.

Bertagna said two children, ages 7 and 12, were taken into custody by Child Protective Services. The District Attorney's Office is reviewing the case, he said, so the names of the residents are being withheld to protect the identities of the children..." More
