Town of Brookhaven building department officials condemned a Holtsville home Sunday after Suffolk County SPCA officers investigated a case of animal hoarding there.
The two-bedroom house on Expressway Drive South had 13 cats and one dog inside and was found to be covered in animal feces, town officials said.
The dog, which was described as being in poor condition, was taken to the Brookhaven Animal Shelter but the cats were not removed. Shelter employees are feeding the cats at the home, town officials said..." More
