SPCA of Erie County Deals With Two Cases Of Animal Hoarding

ORCHARD PARK, N.Y. - It's a huge problem that gets worse and worse for the SPCA of Erie County. Executive Director Barbara Carr tells us since Monday, officers have been at a home on Scherrf Road in Orchard Park dealing with 199 cats and kittens.

"Well it's a pretty typical hording case where there's too many cats and not enough cleaning up," said Carr. "There's disease involved with the cats."

While officers were cleaning out kitty litter boxes outside, inside others are keeping a close watch on their well being. Carr says most of them are suffering from upper respiratory infections as well as the possibility of ring worms. She says for now the cats must remain at the home instead of being taken to the SPCA..." More
