About 200 animals seized from Zebulon home

Franklin County Animal Services and the U.S. Humane Society seized about 200 animals at a Zebulon property. The owner will likely face charges.

Chickens received fluid through IV Monday night after being seized from a property in Zebulon. In all, 200 to 300 animals were taken from the property.

Franklin County Animal Services received a call Monday morning from a neighbor of the home at 916 Carlyle Road in Zebulon. The caller claimed there was a carcass along his fence line, and there were rats as large as one pound each in his yard.

Upon responding to the complaint, Franklin County Animal Services director Graham Stallings was not permitted to the back of the property belonging toRenee Jean Long. As a result, Stalling acquired a warrant and found 175 total animals on the property.

Three of the 25 dogs showed signs of Parvovirus and three puppies were dead. The dogs believed to have Parvo were transported to Bunn Animal Hospital..." More & video
