40 dogs rescued from hoarder come to Colorado

The Human Society of the United States and the Animal Planet show "Confessions: Animal Hoarding" helped to rescue 150 mixed-breed dogs from a home in Lucerne Valley, California, and 40 of those dogs have come to Colorado shelters in hopes of finding a forever home.

The Denver Dumb Friends League says most of the dogs were Labrador retriever, border collie, shepherd and terrier mixes. They were all living in outdoor pens and some were pregnant, nursing or suffering from medical problems, the shelter says.

Twenty of the dogs were taken to the Denver Dumb Friends League, 10 dogs were taken to the Human Society of the Pikes Peak Region and 10 were taken to the Longmont Humane Society. Several of the dogs will need medical attention and behavioral assistance before they can be adopted..." More & video
