Pueblo County woman facing animal cruelty charges after 60 animals seized


A Pueblo County woman has once again been charged with animal cruelty after authorities seized more than 60 animals from her home that they allege were emaciated.
The Denver Post reports that according to Pueblo Animal Services, the animals included dogs, donkeys, mules, a cat, a llama and three dead horses.
Court records show bond for 55-year-old Valarie Christine Harris of Boone was set at $75,000. She faces a charge of aggravated cruelty to animals. She has an unlisted phone number.
Harris also was charged with animal cruelty in 2007, after 19 horses were seized from her property. She was convicted on two counts and sentenced to probation. In 2009, Harris was charged with two felony counts of aggravated cruelty to animals. She was convicted of a misdemeanor..."  Link
