31 dogs, 1 cat seized in Iredell County animal hoarding case

Authorities in Iredell County are investigating a case of animal hoarding.
Dozens of animals were pulled from a home in the small town of Harmony. Authorities said charges are pending for the owners.
Iredell County Animal Service Director Chris Royal said an officer was called to a home in Harmony by someone who was nervous about a stray dog.
When he found that dog’s home, he “went up to the porch and the smell of ammonia was extremely strong,” Royal said.
She said officers got a warrant and found dead dogs in the back yard. Some of the dogs had been burned. Other animals inside the home were living in filth, Royal said..."  More & video
