American Psychiatric Association: DSM: IV (Proposed revisions)


Obsessive-Compulsive and Related Disorders 


Please find below a list of disorders that are currently proposed for the diagnostic category, Obsessive-Compulsive and Movement-Related Disorders. This category contains diagnoses that were listed in DSM-IV under the chapter of Anxiety Disorders as well as the chapters of Somatoform Disorders and Impulse-Control Disorders Not Elsewhere Classified. TheAnxiety, Obsessive-Compulsive Spectrum, Posttraumatic, and Dissociative Disorders Work Group has been responsible for addressing these revisions. Members of this work group also were charged with reviewing Stereotypic Movement Disorder,Tourette’s DisorderChronic Motor or Vocal Tic DisorderProvisional Tic Disorder, and Unspecified Tic Disorder; these are all now located under the chapter of Neurodevelopmental Disorders. Also, the Work Group is currently discussing the inclusion of Olfactory Reference Syndrome in Appendix. Many of the disorders that were previously listed in the Anxiety Disorders chapter in DSM-IV have been distributed throughout this chapter as well as separate chapters on Trauma- and Stressor- Related Disorders and Anxiety Disorders.
