Woman charged for hoarding rabbits

VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. - A Virginia Beach woman faces charges for hoarding nearly 100 rabbits in her home.
Tegwen M. Davis, 60, is facing three counts of animal cruelty and two counts of improper disposal of a deceased animal.
A relative of Davis said she would not comment on the case publicly in an effort to protect Davis' personal and professional reputation.
Animal control responded to a report of a foul smell at 2113 Wolfsnare Rd Thursday night.
Animal control workers put on white biological hazard suits before beginning the removal process. The suits and masks protect workers from ammonia, produced by the rabbit urine and feces.
Crews rescued 74 rabbits from the home Thursday. Workers told WAVY.com they found two dead, decomposed rabbits lying on a bed..."  More & video
