33 dogs, six cats, 200 birds and 50 quails found 'living in filth' at owner's home (but she insists she was rescuing them)

Hundreds of animals including dogs, cats, rabbits and quails have been found living in squalid conditions inside a woman's Ohio home.

Officers from Parma Animal Control (PAC) raided the house of Dolores Buckley after receiving a complaint from a member of the public.

Inside, they discovered 33 dogs, six cats, 200 birds, about 50 quails and several bunnies 'living in filth'.
'I’ve been with Parma for seven years, and this, so far, has been the worst,' said PAC Officer Julie Kocik.

When they first went to the house on West 54th Street last Thursday, Buckley refused them entry, so they returned the next day with a search warrant, along with the Building Dept, Service Dept and back-up crews from Strongsville, Berea and Independence.

According to a report by Fox8 Cleveland, the dogs and puppies, mostly small breeds such as Chihuahuas and Dachshunds, were in the worst condition.

They were removed immediately and taken to the Parma Animal Shelter, where they were treated for fleas and other skin conditions and were given baths on Sunday..."   More
